What do I need to apply?

At least a 2:2 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in nursing. Applicants should have completed a qualification leading to registration as a nurse (registration is not required).

We will consider applicants with a Diploma in Nursing, nursing experience and evidence of continuing professional development that demonstrates an ability to study at Masters level.

How can I study this course?

This course can be studied 100% online with both full-time and part-time options.

The full-time route takes one year to complete, or part-time two years.

How much will it cost?

This course has a UK and International fee. The Admissions Team will carry out a fee assessment where appropriate, to determine which fee is applicable.

What are the learning outcomes?

A student who successfully completes the postgraduate certificate in nursing will have achieved the following learning outcomes.

  • Demonstrate a professional approach to self-development including critical decision-making and problem-solving,
  • Apply knowledge to a critical analysis of approaches to research to support practice and development of nursing care.
  • Critically analyse the application of the evidence base to a range of national and international areas of nursing practice, and contributions of nursing to public health.
  • Analyse approaches to support leadership and service improvement within policy and professional frameworks of nursing.
  • Demonstrate critical awareness of the complex social and political nature of nursing care using an integrated approach and drawing on a range of disciplines.

What do I need to apply?

Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5.

We will consider applicants with a Diploma in Nursing or applicants with significant nursing experience and evidence of continuing professional development that demonstrates an ability to study at Masters level.

Postgraduate UK/EU students

  • Evaluate critically the application and implementation of the evidence base to a range of national and international areas of nursing practice, and contributions of nursing to public health and community development.
  • Analyse approaches to support leadership, quality and service improvement and project management within policy and professional frameworks of nursing.
